“Academic freedom is clearly in decline around the world”, Stéphanie Balme, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, 12 mai 2022

“As today’s conference is dedicated to “Academic Freedom” please allow me to mention the name of our dear colleague, the research in anthropology and political science at Sciences Po : Prof. Fariba Adelkhah who has been arrested in Tehran exactly 3 years ago, sentenced to 5 years’ imprisonment on trumped-up charges and without any proper trial. Prof. Adelkhah is actually detained simply because she is an academic.

Fariba would agree that her personal situation actually reflects a more general, worldwide situation and that is that Academic freedom is clearly in decline around the world”, a déclaré Stéphanie Balme, à l’institut Karolinska lors d’une conférence dédiée aux Libertés académiques.
